School Meals

School meals take place in the food courts called. Students eat as they would in a self-service restaurant.

The meals on offer range from two course hot meals to sandwiches, fruit and salads.

The school aims to ensure that students eat meals which are healthy and nutritious.

Research shows that eating better at lunchtime helps to maintain concentration levels into the afternoon. For this and other reasons connected to health and safety, pupils are not allowed off the premises during the lunch breaks unless they have had specific permission from the school.

The two-course hot meal costs £2.10. Other choices are all very reasonably priced.

Applying for Free School Meals

It is possible to download an application form by:

No one will know you have applied and it will not affect any other benefits you are claiming.

Once your application is processed, a letter will be sent telling you the start and end date of your free school meal entitlement. A copy of this letter is sent to your child's school to let them know, and nowhere else.

If your child is going on a day trip with the school, the school will provide your child with a packed lunch to take with them.

For every child receiving free school meals, the school receives more money so by registering you are also supporting your child’s school.

* Menus will vary throughout the year: those shown are given solely as a guide.
