• Religious Education

At the Infant School, we follow the Kirklees Units based around the Agreed Syllabus for Kirklees and Calderdale 2014-2019. This includes stories from the Bible and questions for the children to consider such as 'What is special to us?' and 'What can we see in our wonderful world?'

We also aim to encourage children to reflect on their experiences, to appreciate their enviornment and think about the 'big questions' in life.

Opportunities are given for children to gain an awareness, understanding and tolerance of other faiths and their special celebrations such as Diwali and Hannukah.

We feel that our links between our school and St James' Church are an important part of Religious Education. On occassion, R.E work may take place in preparation for a church visit - for example, writing prayers.

Reverend Heather Atkinson had a high profile in school, regularly visiting to lead worship. We wish her well in her new parish, and we look forward to woking closly with our new Vicar when they are in post.
