A day in the life...

"What did you do at school today?" For any parent with a child at school it's the eternal question and perhaps it isn't always met with a clear answer. We thought it would be nice to give you a little insight into a child's school day at Netherhall Junior School.

Hi, my name is Brooke and I am in Year 4 at NLC Junior School. I love coming to school each day!

Every morning we come into school and get out our jotters to complete a morning activity while the teacher takes the register, afterwards we get straight into lessons and start Guided Reading.

After our Guided Reading lesson we have Literacy. In Literacy, we have been reading a book called ‘Escape from Pompeii’ which is linked to our CLICK topic all about the Romans. After Literacy, we have assembly which is usually about our school core values or British Values. Then it’s time for break. Break is lots of fun as we have a trim trail and spider web to play on, as well as lots of games, a field and a ball court!

After break, we have Numeracy in groups and afterwards it’s our lunchtime. Lunches are really tasty as they’ve been chosen by our pupil council.

On Wednesday afternoons my class gets to go on a coach for swimming lessons. It’s lots of fun! Our home learning is handed back in and I’m really excited because it’s linked to our CLICK topic, and for handing it in, I’ll be given lots of house points!

I’m looking forward to next week when we even have ukulele lessons with a music teacher and P.E. with a sports coach.
