Attendance Reward Residential Trip
At the end of Autumn half term, our best attending students in year 8 and 9 were invited to take part in ‘Generation Green’: a 2-night residential trip to the countryside staying at Castleton Losehill Hall, to celebrate their resilience and excellent attendance and punctuality record.
The trip involved a lot of time spent outdoors and in woodland areas, where the students learned to make dens, build fires, take part in nature walks and even create natural art. There was also an opportunity to literally hug trees, which Mr. Kirk was very enthusiastic about, and one pupil befriended a goat!
All students took part in the activities with interest, with many even saying that the whole day walk was their favourite! It was also generally agreed that the food provided was amazing, with the hash browns at breakfast getting the biggest shout out. The staff at the centre remarked on the beautiful manners and behaviour of our young people, which made us (and I’m sure their parents) very proud indeed.
