Netherhall St James CofE(VC) Infant & Nursery School
ETA of an Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) for pupils with complex, communication & Interaction (CCI) needs
Grade 6, 32.5 hours, term time plus 2 days
In September 2024 we opened a brand new Additionally Resourced Provisions (ARP) for pupils with complex communication & interaction (CCI) need that is sited within Netherhall St James C of E (VC) Infant & Nursery school.
The ARP provides support for pupils with Complex Communication & Interaction (CCI) needs, their families and the main school. You will be an integral part of the support team including an ARP Lead, Specialist Teacher, HLTA and ETA’s to support the learning and welfare of all targeted pupils.
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals who are passionate about supporting young people to thrive. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine understanding of the value of teamwork. An awareness of the diverse and often complex needs outlined in students’ Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) is essential, alongside the resilience and integrity required to fulfil the responsibilities of a trusted adult.
In this rewarding role, you will support students in achieving both academic and social success across the ARP and mainstream settings. This will involve developing a clear understanding of each student’s individual needs, applying effective learning strategies and interventions, and building positive relationships through strong communication with colleagues, families, and other stakeholders.

Safeguarding and welfare officer
Grade 10, 37 hours, term time plus 1 week
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Safeguarding & Welfare Officer to join our team. This vital role supports the school in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and personal development of all pupils. Working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), senior leaders and the pastoral team, you will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing and aspirational environment for our students.
Key Responsibilities;
- Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, supporting the daily management of safeguarding concerns and deputising for the DSL when required.
- Maintain accurate, secure safeguarding records (including CPOMS) and lead on multi‑agency meetings, reports and assessments.
- Provide structured support to pupils and offer expert safeguarding advice to staff.
- Lead support and interventions for LAC students.
- Triage and respond to safeguarding referrals, making direct referrals to external agencies when necessary.
- Contribute to the development and review of safeguarding policies, training materials and the school’s annual safeguarding development plan.
- Deliver and organise safeguarding training for staff, governors, parents and pupils.
- Build strong professional relationships with pupils, families and external agencies, offering outreach and early‑help support where needed.
- Be a visible presence around school, modelling the highest standards of conduct, safeguarding practice and care for students.
About You
You will bring resilience, empathy and excellent communication skills, along with experience working with children, young people and families. You will be confident managing sensitive situations, highly organised, and committed to ongoing professional development. A strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and multi‑agency processes is essential.
